We went to Flamenco dancing in Seville, Spain. Now, I don't want everyone to think that all I did was to enjoy the Spanish culture, because we worked very hard. Our mission president believed that we should get to know the culture of Spain, and therefore, let us have one cultural night a month. The bullfights we attended on our P-Day.

Here are a couple of pictures of one of the bull fights that I attended in Sevilla, Spain. It was pretty gory, but also very exciting, especially when the Matador got gored.
This is one of the floats during Holy Week in Seville, Spain that depicts the last week of Christ's life. These are statues that are dressed in very expensive clothes. Everything that looks like gold, is 100% solid gold and the silver is 100% silver. The virgin Mary had gowns that were worth millions of dollars as well as tears made out of huge diamonds. These floats were worth a lot of money and floats like these paraded through Seville for a week until Christ was crucified.
This is a picture of our first home in West Bountiful before we enclosed the carport into a garage. Also a picture of the little Toyota pickup that I had. All the boys were born while we lived here. As I look at it closer, it must have been shortly after we moved in as the yard was not done and houses were being built behind us. Our 1974 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was also parked under the carport.
Well, I am back to scanning my slides. I thought that this was pretty interesting. It was the summer of 1974 when Janice and I lived with Grandpa and Grandma. I believe that this was in Glacier Park on the Going to the Sun Highway.

Mystery Picture

Does anyone know where this is? I think that it is Red Rock Canyon by Waterton National Park but I am not sure. As I think about it, I believe the area just before the road is where you get into the water to walk upstream.

1974 Camping Trip in Canadian Rocky Mountains

We lived with Grandpa and Grandma Hough during the summer of 1974 while we worked in Cardston to earn money for school. I worked for the Town of Cardston and Janice worked with Grandma at the Blood Indian Hospital.

We went camping in the Canadian Rockies near Waterton National Park during the summer of 1974. Grandpa had this trailer (although I remember it being red, so maybe it was someone else's trailer) that we used. If I remember correctly, once the sun went down, there were millions of mosquitos and we spent the evening in the trailer. We didn't dare go outside because we had been bitten so many times! It wasn't much fun.

First Apartment - Bedroom, Living Room, Dining Room

Janice and I were married on December 21, 1973. For the winter semester, we rented a small one room apartment (2 room if you count the bathroom). the next two posts show that apartment.

This was the bedroom, living room and dining room. The sofa turned into our bed. This must have been taken when we were first moving in or moving out. Janice thinks it was when we moved out and went to Canada for the summer.

Our First Apartment - Kitchen

This is the kitchen of our one room apartment. We felt that we were lucky to not have a basement apartment, although this was really small.

Our First Apartment - Winter Semester 1974

This shows the front of our first apartment building after we were married. We lived upstairs in a one room apartment. Janice is standing by our car.
