This is a picture of Aunt Jean's new house in Arizona
This picture was taken for Janice's tap dancing numbers in a dance review. Taken at Bountiful High. Janice (far left), Sandra 2nd from left.

I didn't know that Janice used to tap dance. Janice was quite upset that they ran out of material, so she and Sandra had to have a different costume.
This was Janice's sixth grade class picture. She was in the last row, third from left. She really liked this class because her teacher was fun and interesting

This was taken in February 1982. Greg was 2 years old and Chris was 7 months. As we look at pictures to scan, we find that we have a picture or two of Greg every month as he grew. Chris has fewer pictures and Adam has hardly any. We now wished that we had taken more pictures of Chris and Adam.

I have been scanning pictures from the various picture books that we have. This is Greg at 3 years old. It was taken in July 1982. It was a couple of months after Greg and I picked out the seats in the new Cougar Stadium.

A Few Years Earlier

This is a picture of me when I was 6-7 months old. This would be around January or February 1952. I seemed to be a happy bald child.

Picture of Bryan Hough in 1973

This picture was taken in November or December of 1973 in front of the Beckstrands' home in Bountiful, Utah. We were there to take some pre-wedding pictures. Janice and I were getting married on December 21st, 1973 in the Provo, Utah temple.

The car was my second car, a 1971 Pontiac Ventura. Notice the plaid pants!

One Cool Dude

This picture was taken on April 13, 1973 just before the end of my freshman year at BYU-Provo. I was 21 years old. Notice the boots - I had them custom made in Spain for $18. Also notice that one eye glass is darker than the other. I broke one of them and couldn't afford to get both replaced. All my pictures for the next couple of years (including wedding pictures) have one dark and one light lens.

"Little Guy"

We were up at Greg and Melinda's this weekend. Janice showed Brenden a similar picture (but much darker) as this one. She told him that it was a little guy on her bed. Brenden was concerned about it the rest of the visit and wanted us to know that he would help get rid of the "little guy" from Grandma's bed. He was pretty concerned about it and wanted to protect his grandmother! Hopefully, he can see this better picture and won't be so concerned. The stewards created something different each night, such as rabbits, butterflies, etc.

First Vacation - 1978

This is a picture of Grandma Hough in 1978. This was our first paid vacation. We had borrowed Aunt Jean’s camper van and took a week to look around the National Parks in Southern Utah. I had never been to Southern Utah before. I believe this picture was taken in Capital Reef National Park. It was during this trip that we decided to save our money and visit Spain the next summer. We had given up on having children. When we returned home, Janice visited the doctor and was told she was pregnant. Greg was born the next May and we never did make it to Spain. It was worth it!

Whisky Gap

This is our first post to my new blog. We hope to share pictures and stories with our children and grandchildren. I thought that I would share a picture of where I lived when I was in Grade 6 to Grade 11. It is called Whisky Gap and was where the whiskey traders from the USA would come across the border to trade whiskey with Indians in Canada. Grandpa Art Hough ran the grain elevator that is first in the background. Our home was just behind the house that is shown at the left of the picture. We had no TV and radio only worked during the day.
